Dies scheint an der Verwendung des 68EC040 (ohne FPU) zu liegen. Bitte benennen Sie die Dateien im Verzeichnis "plugins2" mit der Endung "p2n" in "pss" umbennen und löschen Sie die Dateien mit der Endung "p2m" und "p4s".

Can't proceed with new setting
This problem appears when you used the ArtEffect 2.6 patch, but did not install all the other files, which has to be done manually. Please also install all files of libs, plugins2, ArtEffect.wizard and new wizard.library (the latter into libs:). Neue Einstellungen werden nicht angenommen
Dieses Problem tritt auf, wenn zwar den ArtEffect 2.6-Patch angewendet hat, nicht aber die restlichen Dateien (libs, plugins2, ArtEffect.wizard, wizard.library) installiert hat. Dies muß von Hand vorgenommen werden. Bitte lesen Sie hierzu die Liesmich-Datei.

I get the error message "can not get a system ressource"
This happens when you try to run ArtEffect on a screen with 8 ir less colors, eg. Workbench. Ich bekomme die Fehlermeldung: "Bekomme keine System-Ressourcen"

How do I use the left AMIGA key
ArtEffect 2 uses the left AMIGA key for special functions. Normally this key is used for screen dragging. To be able to use this key in ArtEffect you have to change the preferences with <IControl>. Wie benutze ich die linke AMIGA Taste
ArtEffect 2 nutzt die linke AMIGA-Taste um z.B. beim Zauberstab Bereiche hinzuzufügen. Diese Taste wird normalerweise zum Herunterziehen von Screens genutzt. Um sie für ArtEffect nutzbar zu machen muß man dies in den Preferences mit <IControl> ausschalten.

How does ArtEffect 1.5 will print with TurboPrint 6 or later?
Unfortunately TurboPrint changes the file name of the main program with every release. This makes it very difficult to support new version, but we implemented and env variable (which is located in the file envarc:ArtEffect/TurboPrint) where you can enter the name of the TurboPrint main program (e.g. GraphicsPublisher). Wie bekommt man ArtEffecte 1.5 mit TurboPrint 6 zum Laufen?
Leider wird bei jeder TurboPrint-Version der Name des Hauptprogramms geändert. Dies macht eine Unterstützung neuer Version sehr schwierig. Wir haben daher eine Umgebungsvariable (envarc:ArtEffect/TurboPrint) eingeführt, in der man den Namen des TurboPrint Hauptprogramms eintragen muß (z.B. GraphicsPublisher).

Ändern sie die Environmentvariable ArtEffect/TurboPrint. Hierin muß der Name des TurboPrint DruckManagers stehen. Leider scheint IrseeSoft diesen mit jedem Update umzubenennen. Falls dies nicht klappt haben sie wahrscheinlich ein zu altes PlugIn. Dann hilft es den TurboPrint
Druckmanager den selben Namen wie in der vorherigen Version zu geben (ich glaube da hieß er DruckManager).

Die Umgebungsvariable setzen sie mit setenv ArtEffect/TurboPrint "TurboPrint:GrafikPublisher"

Um die Variable auch nach einem Reset verfügbar zu haben müssen Sie noch die Variable von env: nach envarc: kopieren (also ggf. in envarc: ArtEffect-Verzeichnis anlegen und dann die Datei TurboPrint aus env:ArtEffect nach envarc:ArtEffect kopieren).

Which tablet drivers support pressure sensitivity with AE ?
ArtEffect uses the pressure data send by a Kickstart 2.x compatible way (in an intuimessage). Most existing tablet drivers do not support this NORMAL way, they instead are providing their on mechanism to receive pressure data. But we dont want to implement the private pressure mechanism of several tablet drivers. So by now Tablau from ESCENA is the only one that support this with ArtEffect. Welcher Tablett-Treiber unterstützt die Drucksensitivität von ArtEffect?
Bisher unterstützen nur die Tableau-Treiber von ESCENA die Drucksensitivität in ArtEffect.

Please select another mode eg. "impressionist" and then foregrond again. This is an error in AE. Der Stempel funktioniert nicht richtig, er verwendet nur die Vordergrundfarbe.
Bitte schalten Sie kurzfristig auf einen anderen Modus um, z.B. Impressionist und dann wieder auf Vordergrund. Dies ist ein Fehler in AE.

Why do I need VMem when I have so much "real" RAM ?
ArtEffects needs the VMem for internal operations. It is recommanded to set it to a minimum of 32 MB. Warum brauche ich VMem, wenn ich doch viel echtes RAM besitze?
ArtEffect benötigt das VMem für interne Operationen, daher sollte der Wert auf mindestens 32 MB gesetzt werden.

Why am I getting an "Out of memory" during loading, although I have a lot of memory.
ArtEffect needs a lot of memory. It actually need 2-3 times the RAM of the pictures.
There is also the VMem option "max. size" which will take away memory to use for caching. Maybe this value is set to high.
You can use a value of 500KB for both memory settings if you do not have that much memory. Warum bekomme ich eine "Speichermangel"-Meldung obwohl ich ausreichend Speicher habe?
ArtEffect benötigt eine Menge Speicher, etwa das 2-3 fache dessen, was das Bild an RAM benötigt.
Es könnte aber auch sein, daß die Einstellung "max. Größe" bei den VMem-Optionen zu groß gewählt wurde. Dieses RAM wird für den interen Cache verwendet und steht damit nicht für andere Opterationen zur Verfügung.
Die Werte können bis auf 500KB heruntergesetzt werden, falls bei Ihnen der Speicher knapp ist.

Why do I get a black picture when I loaded a picture?
One reason for this effect is that you do not have enought memory for loading that picture. ArtEffect needs its memory in one block, so fragmentation could be a reason. Rebooting your Amiga would help in that case.
Another reason is that some TIF pictures types (e.g. CMYK TIF) can not be loaded by the internal ArtEffect loader. In that case you can either use the optional SuperView loaders or datatypes. To activate this you must remove the TIF loader of ArtEffect, because it is used first. The file is called TIF.pss and it is located at arteffect:plugins2. Ein Grund könnte sein, daß Sie nicht genügend freien Speicher haben. Der Speicher könnte auch fragmentiert sein, denn AE benötigt zusammenhängenden Speicher. Das Neustarten des Amiga könnte in diesem Fall helfen.
Es könnte aber auch am TIF Lader liegen, der z.B. keine CMYK TIF-Bilder laden kann. Sie könnten dann auf die Lader des optionalen SuperView-Pakets oder die Datatypes zurückgreifen. Um diese zu aktivieren muß das TIF-PlugIn (TIF.pss) aus dem Ordner arteffect:plugins2 entfernt werden.

Der Grund ist auch hier i.d. Regel Speichermangel. Manchmal braucht AE mehr Speicher als erwartet. Es könnte auch an der Fragmentierung (Zerstückelung) des Speichers liegen. Dann könnte ein Neustart des Amiga helfen.

Why does ArtEffect not start?
Maybe your settings are opening a screenmode your monitor can not display (because you are using an VGA monitor) or something like this. In that case you can delete the file "program2.cfg" in the arteffect:settings drawer. You can also delete all files of this drawer to set all settings to its defaults.
When ArtEffect stops working during initialisation of the PlugIns (the start picture is still open) then the last loaded PlugIn does not work with ArtEffect 2.0. Please delete this one, because the PlugIns of ArtEffect 1.x will not work with 2.x. Warum startet ArtEffect nicht?
Vielleicht wurde ein falscher Screenmode ausgewählt, der von Ihrem Monitor nicht dargestellt werden kann. Löschen Sie in diesem Fall die datie "program2.cfg" im Verzeichnis arteffect:settings.
Sollte ArtEffect beim Laden der PlugIns stehenbleiben, dann ist das zuletzt geladene PlugIn verscheinlich nicht für die Version 2 von ArtEffect geeignet. Entfernen Sie dieses PlugIn dann bitte. Sie finden es im Verzeichnis "ArtEffect:plugins2".

Why does ArtEffect gets slower and slower?
If ArtEffect is getting slower and slower while working on a picture, please have a look at the Undo levels. Please set the value to 2 - 5, because "unlimited undo" might make the system slow.
If it is still to slow, please set the Undo level to 1.
In some cases it is better so switch off "Async I/O" on "VMem" settings. Warum wird ArtEffect langsamer?
Wenn Sie merken, daß AE von Aktion zu Aktion langsamer wird, dann kann es an der hohen Zahl von Undo-Schritten liegen. Vielleicht wurde hier "unbegrenzt" gewählt. Setzen Sie diesen Wert dann herunter.
Falles es immer noch zu langsam ist, dann setzen Sie den Wert der Undo-Schritte bitte auf 1.
Eventuell hilft es, den Schalter "Async I/O" bei "VMem" auszuschalten.
